Last week we started a (hopefully) provocative analysis of what we believe it means to be a "Christian". Our Jewish friends have 613 mitzvot, or commands, they follow; for us, we're following the "spirit of the law" vs. the letter of the law. Well, that's a little nebulous, isn't it? So, what does it mean to be a Christian, exactly (or inexactly!). For more on this, tune in to this week's podcast episode:

Joy and suffering - that's like an iceburg, but you guys expounded upon it beautifully in the short time you had in the "What is a Christian" Great example given in suffering a difficult marriage. I don't know that we even know HOW to suffer or endure suffering for the good. I know I don't (just give me a pill)
Keep up the good work. Deo Gratias.

Hello Cindi and Deacon...
I learned this tidbit of information from reading catholic author Patricia Livingston
Deacon Tim mentioned Hebrews 12:7 and the word "discipline". the greek word paideia translated in this passage as discipline, can also mean "education". so I would assume we learn a lot about ourselves, God and life by the trials we suffer.
