Do I feel like the ship is going down? No, I do not.

My Father likes to say, sometimes you need to take a two-by-four and hit a donkey along side his head to get his attention first. That's what has happened.

Wow, so much there...glad I waited till the end of the week to listen. Ever since the Iraq war began I wondered, "Why are we, as a nation, not sacrificing for this war. Why are we not giving up some things in order for our troops to have more?" I thought of the greatest generation of WWII who gave up so much and collectively the nation was involved in the war. What we're asked to do to support our troops - buy, spend, consume. There's a lot to consider with that but I also wonder if this episode in our nation is God's manner of shaking his church to turn to Him. In my heart I am so burdened for the future of our country. We have strayed not only from our founding father's intent but the church seems to be rather myopic in her mission. Perhaps, perhaps, God is allowing this to get us back on our knees, pleading with Him, turning to Him, trusting in Him and not the princes over us. I hope and pray we, as the church, does get down and lay ourselves in His merciful hands.

Thank you for saying this. You are exactly right. I hope this will wake up a few people.
