As I listen to you guys I see how narrow and limited my christianity can be. The saramentals touched that nerve. I tend to taint my faith with that scientific fervor of "if I can't feel/taste/touch/smell it - prove it to me - then I can't put faith in it." But when I see God is limitless (you guys keep pointing it out), I can't and shouldn't put a box around his grace, it's freeing. I'm peeling of the bonds, slowly but surely, and you guys are an instrument of that process. Thanks for leading in truth and love.

Cyndi

Barb, you are leading ME in truth and grace as I observe how you seek God in everything. Your transparency and honesty about your journey is inspiring and refreshing. No "church lady" routine with Barb - I'm sure you are a bright light in your church. You're a bright light on our blog, that's for sure!

Hi Cyndi. I figured out how to use the podcast feature on iTunes and I'm thrilled to be able to listen to both you and Tim on a regular basis again. I loved this weeks broadcast. Living in the "baptist bible belt" I hear Catholics and traditionalists being bashed a lot. I know very little of the reasons behind the traditions. I enjoyed listening to Tim talk about some of that today and realized we all are worshipping God, not idols. This broadcast was enlightening to me and opened up my "God box" a little wider as well. Thanks!

Michael

Blessings! And that's what you and Tim are to the community of faith - blessings! I've added Two Edge Talk to my weblinks and to my RSS podcast feeds - http://www.iamacatholic.org. See you at ICCC sunday. Blessings - again!

I love your banter and your voices. This really was a good one. I enjoyed listening to the explanation (about holy objects) but I really loved the blessings that Deacon recited.

This is a good topic, keep it up. Deacon Tim's quote from Daniel may not be familiar to Protestants. It was from the part of Daniel contained in the Septuagint, so it is probably not in the Protestant Bible. Ultimately, what we are talking about is the efficacy of Christ's incarnation. Jesus saved man by using matter, his body. He didn't have to do it that way, but he did. Our use of sacramentals is a way of rejoicing and praising his incarnation. You
said it, God became matter to bless us & he continues to bless us using matter.
