As Deacon Tim so eloquently teaches in this podcast, Catholics are not seeking Mary as an end in herself. She merely leads us to her Son. God's mission for her was that she was to be the Christ-bearer, and wouldn't that still be her mission? As Catholics, we believe that the Christian life doesn't end when our time on earth is finished - the saints in heaven are still praying and interceding for us. Mary, from her post in heaven, still longs for us to know her Son. In this podcast, Deacon Tim fleshes out our image of Jesus, through the eyes of Mary.

The stations of the cross can be an amazing reflection on the suffering of Christ. Another great post.

Have you read Anne Rice's two books: Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt and the Road to Cana? Understanding this is historical fiction, but Ms. Rice puts flesh and bones and heart and soul and personality on the persons in the Gospels - especially Mary and Joseph. You've got to read the Road to Cana, Cyndi!
We Protestants do not consider Mary enough and have many misconceptions about what Catholics believe. Thanks for clarifying.
