Pondering with Mary's Heart

As Deacon Tim so eloquently teaches in this podcast,  Catholics are not seeking Mary as an end in herself.  She merely leads us to her Son.  God's mission for her was that she was to be the Christ-bearer, and wouldn't that still be her mission?  As Catholics, we believe that the Christian life doesn't end when our time on earth is finished - the saints in heaven are still praying and interceding for us.  Mary, from her post in heaven, still longs for us to know her Son.  In this podcast, Deacon Tim fleshes out our image of Jesus, through the eyes of Mary.

Help for the Hurting

The Psalms run the gamut of human emotion, and Deacon Tim suggests that they are a model for prayer, particularly when we are too devastated to pray.  He also gives some great advice for those helping someone in crisis.  I learned that my usual way of helping is not very helpful!

Inexplicable Joy

This podcast was not what we had planned, but since Deacon Tim and I pray the Holy Spirit prayer before every podcast, we have to think it was divinely inspired!   In a nutshell, I hijack the conversation to talk about the divine "coincidences" which seem to happen with Deacon Tim's family, and he explains them by talking about real joy, the God-inspired kind that is unrelated to one's circumstances.  I think you'll be inspired - I am!

The Bible- Tips, Tricks & Traps

I asked Deacon Tim to do a few podcasts on the Bible - I want that same passion he has when he reads the Bible!   In this podcast, he challenges us to go beyond a surface, conventional reading of the Bible and put aside our modern thinking and cultural bias.  When you follow Deacon Tim's tips and tricks, and avoid the traps, plan to be challenged as the Bible comes alive as God's living letter to us!
