Deacon Tim was asked to be a part of our state's "Academy of Goals," a group of thinkers whose mission is to set goals and priorities for the state. Like John the Baptist, Deacon Tim was the lone voice crying out in the wilderness - no one cared a bit about what he had to say about the real problems facing society. Thank goodness he has a podcast so someone will listen! :)
I have a feeling that this scene could have played out in your neck of the woods too, so tell us what you think!

I attended a Christian funeral a couple years back, and a story that was told at the funeral has remained with me. The woman being honored at the service, was a prominent buisness woman and educator. A Dean at a local college, and sat on the board of several successful national buisnesses, including a major computer software company. Her son told the story, of being at her bedside, late one night in the final stages of her illness. They have fluffed pillows, dimmed the lights, and he along with his nephew were quietly talking with his Mother. The talk that evening had revolved around the business trip that he had recently taken. His Mother, during a quiet moment in the conversation, turned to the painting she had asked be placed at her bedside. It was a painting of the Good Shepard. She quietly said, "Boys, if you ever get into trouble, there is the answer."
As her son was telling this story at her funeral, he said, he thought....what, what sheep herding? His mind automatically going onto the business track where their conversation had been centered. And then as he reported the events, he thought, Ahhhhhhhh G-d.
I believe in technology. It has made my life better in hundreds of ways both large and small. But, like the sweet Christian Lady, offering advise to her son on her death bed....I am well aware, that none of the changes technology is brought to my life would matter, if the foundation is not strong. G-d and family, they are the bedrock upon which society is built. In my humble opinion it is true, if we fail our chidren, if we fail to honor G-d, nothing else matters.

Thank you, Tim, for being the voice crying in the wilderness. We need you to stand up for truth in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Blessed Mother Teresa was not afraid to stand up for those truths when she visited Tulsa in the '70s. She was my inspiration then and now. You are keeping that voice alive today.
God bless you!
