The state of the marital union? In general, not so good. We all have witnessed the shattered remains of friends and family ripped apart by divorce. We'll be talking for a few podcasts about the topic, so if you're a bit disillusioned about your own marriage, or know someone who is, this series is for you. Or heck, if you're happily married, this series is for you. Who couldn't use a little tune-up now and then?
If you could use some real help with your marriage, Deacon Tim gives a couple of helpful resources: www.smartmarriage.com and www.retrouvaille.org. As Deacon Tim points out, this last one is a marketing nightmare since no one can spell or say this obscure French term, but the results are amazing. I've known deeply troubled couples who now have a vibrant marriage. Click on those links!
A small housekeeping matter.....One of the companies who beams up our podcast (or whatever the heck goes on - don't ask me - it's magic as far as I can tell) has changed the format so you can leave comments right after you listen, on that same link. Most people, though, comment here, so if you want to leave a comment (and I hope you do!), can you click back to this blog page to leave your comments? I like having everyone's comments in one place, so we can get to know each other, in a close, cyber-pals kind of way.
Peace be with you, and I'll be praying for your marriage this week!

Once again....great podcast. I can totally relate to being a low spot in my marriage....but we toughed it out and here we are happy and learning more about each other daily. We attended a Family Life marriage conference through Campus Crusade for Christ here in Canada. I cannot stress how vital this 'tune-up' was for our marriage.
I look forward to each Monday when I get to hear a new podcast!

Hi Cyndi and Tim,
I am having trouble listening to the podcast. On both buttons, I can only listen to 2 min and 41 sec.
I'll try on another computer later, but this is the computer I usually listen on.
Odd.
Your new header is very nice!

The podcast is working brilliantly now :o)
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?"
As a mom, I have stressed this verse with my children.
God gives us His word to help us...not just to be bossy.
If only we would listen to Him...
and our kiddos listen to us :o)
I find it very difficult to counsel those where are heading for divorce.
Happiness seems to be what it is all about.
And it is hard to say...
"Sorry you are not happy.
You need to die to yourself."
Not an easy pill for most folks to swallow.
