I'm embarrassed to admit that I had been married for 15 years before I knew that the whole point of marriage was to bring each other to holiness. Really? I thought it was just handy to have built-in computer guy around - you mean I was supposed to help him get to heaven? In this podcast, Deacon Tim and I talk about God's plan for your marriage, whether you're married to a sinner or a saint! Please send this podcast to anyone you care about - our broken world needs to hear this message!

I agree Cyndi...After 18 years of marriage I think I'm just understanding that it's about selflessness and not about me getting served and my needs getting met. I'm a slow learner but I endure and that's what it takes with marriage. Maybe embracing selflessness takes 18, 20, 30 years. Right now I can say it was worth the wait and because of that I only expect more good things/time to come. But it is a marathon of peeling off those selfish layers. I'm just beginning the unveiling, it seems.

I wish we would have had time for another aspect of marriage: discerning God's will for us as a couple. This is another key area where there is movement and adventure. We all are called to obey the commandments and that sort of thing, but beyond that, what does God want us to do? If every couple could surrender to that, try to discern God's call on them as a couple and live that out, every marriage would be rich, exciting and fulfilling.

My marriage has taken a rollercoaster ride or two. When it dipped I thought it meant it was over, I was thinking to get out. Thankfully my faith kept me in for the ride.
After all these years I am finally seeing what it means... "to bear witness to one another's lives." love expands in the depth of time.
