In the last couple of podcasts, we've been talking about marriage as our individual path to holiness, but in this podcast, Deacon Tim helps us see that God gives each married couple a mission. Are you willing to accept it? First you have to know what it is, though, right? Deacon Tim gives some great (and practical) pointers on how to figure out what God has in store for you, and I promise - this adventure is not going to be boring!

So are you saying we need a spiritual gameplan?
These might be the words that would get my hubby to be interested in ....getting in the game :o)
Coach.
Headset.
Quaterback.
Gameplan.
Your wife cracks me up Deacon Tim.
I like hearing how you two make it work.
I think I need to huddle with the coach and discuss what the Owner has in mind for our future.

Thanks for another great message.
There is an aspect of intimacy in prayer - praying together as husband and wife opens us up in a way unlike anything else. Perhaps it's the marriage relationship with prayer, because I don't feel as vulnerable when I pray with friends. Perhaps it's because my husband knows me so well, and in prayer, defenses are down and vulnerability is up. It does strengthen our marriage when, instead of endless discussion, we get on our knees.

Good stuff.
I've never quite gotten the praying=listening thing down as I figured I was setting aside time for me to pray and then kind of trying to schedule God to talk to me then. I've never been good at scheduling God to do stuff. So my prayers are simple and blunt like Tim said, and I spend a LOT of time meditating on the Word. That seems to be the time God communicates best with me, and comes closest to praying without ceasing as I've figured out how to do.
It's also helped since I messed around with Proverbs 3:5&6 and discovered that the word "acknowledge" means to ascertain by seeing.
Ascertain God's presence in all our ways. Wow. What a kick-start that's been for me.

Amazing that sometimes the way "He" talks to you is through the person that is explaining it can come from anywhere. Thanks for the great shows...now I'm waiting on the one about the husbands authority :) (in a good way)
