Hello, Cyndi? Hi, it's God. Last week, Deacon Tim shared his re-discovery of God with us; this week it's Cyndi's turn. Click on the link below to hear her witness to the ways God has taken her to places she never dreamed she needed to go!

Cyndi, hope you all are having fun in Austin! You know, when I was 14 I went to Rome. We went to the Vatican and I actually saw Pope John Paul II. It was such an amazing feeling just being there while he conducted Mass. I think that experience is what always called me to the Catholic church. I have never forgotten it. It took me many years, but I'm here now and am so lucky to be part of a wonderful, supportive parish. Isn't it interesting they say that converts make the best Catholics? Guess its b/c we actually make the choice.

Surrender, that is what it is all about, I think. Many of us can remember that moment of surrender, mine was during Mass after I became Catholic. But we also have to remember that we have to CONTINUE to surrender every day of our lives. It is too easy to be lured back into a self-directed life as opposed to a God-centered life, many forces are working at doing just that, don't you think?
So I guess I will say, for me, surrender is a PROCESS, not just a moment. (Something I have to remind myself of often!) And with surrender are graces from God; realized through prayer, study, service, and the sacraments of the Catholic Church; which provide wisdom and discernment to help me make the right choices for God.

What an encourageing, heart-felt message.
Thank you both for sharing your love for Christ.
Cyndi,
You might like the book Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss.
She wrote the hymn, More Love to Thee.
I can't sing it without crying.
Blessings,
Donna

I think what mahah2 said about surrender being a process is very true. That's kind of the thought I had as I listened to the second half of this broadcast.
There are so many verses that show us the night and day difference between the ways of man and the ways of the Lord. Yet, too often we forget to look to God to direct our paths and we seek out our own way instead. We see the foolishness of someone who will not stop to ask for directions or look at a map, getting more lost all the time. God has provided us with a map (His Word) and is on hand 24/7 to give directions. Shoot, He's much better than Mapquest or OnStar. We don't need TomTom, we need GodGod (that's twice for emphasis:o).
Psa 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
